Seems like you can take a bike anywhere by train. A folding bike is free, otherwise it costs €4.00.

Wow..first time I see a price reduction in Belgian railways.

I knew it was €5.00 for one trip or €8.00 unlimited for the whole day.

Hi
Some carriages have a spot where you can lash your bike, usually at one end of the carriage.

Problem I found is how to find out where that spot is and it's difficult to cart the bike through the train to find it.

I've had no problems leaving my fold up in the entrance lobby but I don't like it and being an ex H&SAW rep. I think it's dangerous for passengers and it could possibly get nicked without having it in sight.

I though I'd be smart and bought a 1st class ticket (Pensioner has it's advantages !) as there would be more room. Problem again is that you might have to trapse the bike the outside length of the train to find the right carriage. I spent most of the journey 2nd class but there's not too much difference.
