Best Internet (Ixelles)?
Hey there,
I've just moved into Ixelles, near St. Boniface. I need to take out a broadband connection but I've read conflicting reports about which company is best. Based on past experience, it's quite common to not receive the speeds advertised, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for Brussels, and ideally Ixelles?
My budget is around €35-45/month ideally. Was looking at:
- Scarlet (€35/month, 30mbsdl, 4mbsul, VDSL2)
- VOO (€45/month, 55mbsdl, 3mbdul)
- Telenet (€49/month, 100mbsdl, 6mbUL, 150GB limit).
Any good/bad stories for these? Thanks a lot!
Conor
No experience of VOO, but Scarlet were pretty bad and unreliable when I tried them - however this was four years ago and I have heard that they are far better nowadays. I now have Telenet, and it's always been faultlessly reliable, very fast download speeds. but it's more expensive, as you have discovered.
Why not proximus? I have been using them and never had problem with them.

I have used Belgacom/Proximus for the past 12 years and found them very good. If there is a problem I phone them ask for an English speaker and the problem fixed quickly and politely, couldn't be more helpful.
Just checked my connection on the Ixelles/Etterbeek border with Proximus.
U/L 4.74Mbps and D/L 63.52Mbps, this is standard.
Proximus have separate phone nos. for each language and are mostly very helpful.
