Best Indian (+ nearby) curries in Brussels

Question

Hello all,

Anyone recommend their best Indian (+ vicinity) curries in Brussels? I am well aware of Agra, Spicy Grill, Everest. Not impressed with those in the centre. Have a vague memory of the fancy one on Avenue Louise that closed down. Any others worth checking out for Brits missing their “national” dish? The spicier the better!

Thanks.

J

Namaste in Sterrebeek is OK. (which implies quite a lot better than the others you've mentioned)

This is apparently good food wise. Service a bit random.

Well I haven't been for a few years now, but I used to be a regular at the Star of India at 175 Chaussee de Louvain just north of Square Marie Louise. Best indian food in Brussels then. I see it has one or two recent positive Google reviews as well.

I had always found i'Everest to be very good, my favourite in BXL, before the Covid shut-down. I passed by there recently and they only offer take-away service, quite understandably because it's a small resto. I have tried the Indus pride (Woluwe) and also the Punjab Grill (Georges Henri) both as take-away but food does not quite match that of the l'Everest

Without a doubt, Krishna in Overijse. I took some Indian colleagues and they said it was so good, they would carry their grandmother to eat there. It is not a gorgeous spot, but amazing food. https://www.krishna-restaurant.be/ (I know it is slightly outside of Brussels, but not that far)

Yes, the Krishna used to my favourite, until I discovered l'Everest, equally good and indeed more convenient for me in Brussels. I recently looked up the Krishna website and no specific info on whether they are open as usual, I guess so since nothing mentioned. I guess there is enough "social distancing" between the tables ?

Why not take a trip to Waterloo.
Parf'Inde has a very good reputation for authentic cuisine. Dine-in, take-away and local free delivery.
Dishes are spicy so go for mild if you are not used to genuine Indian cuisine. They give you a small amount of chilli paste to spice up if needed.
I love their Karahi and their Butter Chicken is to die for. Vegetarians will enjoy their Palak Panneer.

I'm astonished that anyone would recommend Krishna. It's dull beyond belief and the menu has been the same old "British indian" crap for 30 years, with no fresh coriander, chilies etc. Indian people would not like it at all.

Punjab take away with a small seated section in Avenue George Henri... clearly the BEST!

OP here. Tried this place recently: https://www.motherindia.be/
One of the best curries I have had in Brussels in a long time, with excellent naan breads!
