Benefits for eu citz

Question

With uk being challenged over benefit rights of eu citizens, what's the score here in Belgium? I have worked 5 yrs with full tax, yet my wife is denied any support. I understood eu family of tax payers in uk should have been eligible (for right or wrong).
I never got a straight answer out of Actiris so long since gave up asking!

J

If you're working, your non-working wife is your dependent, so no payouts.
If you are not working, your non-working wife is your dependent, so no payouts (not in the wife's name at least). Your payouts will increase as you have a dependent.
She's not being denied anything. She is just not eligible. She would need to have worked, or to be not dependent on you to be eligible.

She can register as available for work and take advantage of free training courses.

You'd have to be more precise on what you mean by "benefits".
