Belgium Residence Permit Card D

Question

Hello,
I am from Non-EU countries. I have completed 5 years of uninterrupted stay in Belgium and have been working on Work Permit Type B. Can I directly apply for Residence Permit Card D?

Any inputs on the process or experience would help.

Thanks

J

Ask your commune what sort of card you should apply for.

Yes, you can, just when applying for it, mention explicitly that you want to apply for card D. ohterwise they will automatically direct you to the path to obtain card B.

Hi, Ramkumar!

you need
-to be a NON-EU citizen
- bring your current residence card with you
- provide proofs of 5 years of legal uninterrupted stay in BE (registered in the population register and have your cards timely renewed). This is usually clear from your file at the commune. no need to bring anything
- if you worked, you might need to bring all your work permits and provide proof of stable minimum income 826eur/pP.
- health insurance in BE.

But to be sure just ask your commune as the requirements may vary from commune to commune.
More info about the issue is here: http://www.agii.be/thema/vreemdelingenrecht-internationaal-privaatrecht/... ( in Dutch only)
Good luck,
D
