Belgium among youngest World Cup squads

08:32 04/06/2014

Belgium trainer Marc Wilmots is sending one of the youngest teams to the World Cup. Of all 32 squads headed for Brazil this month, the Red Devils have some of the youngest players, with an average age of 26 years and 15 days old. That's just shy of younger teams Ghana (25 years and 244 days) and Nigeria (25 years and 297 days), according to a calculation by statistical agency Infostrada.

Newcomers Divock Origi and Adnan Januzaj (19) are the two youngest Belgian players. Argentina has the oldest squad in the World Cup: on average 28 years and 336 days old. The average age for all teams is around 27 years old.
