Belgian Sophie Vandebroek among 50 most inspiring women in IT

11:28 20/02/2015

Sophie Vandebroek, 53, was selected as one of the Inspiring Fifty, the only Belgian to make the prestigious shortlist of the 50 most inspiring women in the technology sector, reports De Morgen.

Vandebroek, who was born, raised and educated in Leuven, moved to the United States to take on a job as chief technology officer (CTO) and president of the innovation group at American multinational document management corporation Xerox. She has 14 patents to her name and just as many awards for her contributions to IT. Vandebroek was inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame.

The Inspiring Fifty is a European initiative with an aim to encourage more female role models in the IT sector, and the result of a year-long search to identify the most inspiring women within the European technology and business community.
