Belgian singer Eddy Wally dies aged 83

The Belgian singer Eddy Wally passed away on Saturday at the age of 83 due to the effects of a brain haemorrhage. The artist from Zelzate, in East Flanders, was able to say goodbye to his loved ones, according to his manager.
The self-proclaimed “Voice of Europe” had suffered health problems since a brain haemorrhage landed him in hospital in 2011. Since then, Wally livedin a nursing home in his hometown, according to Belgian media.
Wally, who was born Eduard Van De Walle, was a Flemish crooner and showman. He was best known for hits like “Chérie” and "Ik spring uit een vliegmachien" ("I'll jump out of an aeroplane").
