Belgian short film wins nature award

Earlier this year, outdoor and travel gear chain AS Adventure teamed up with GoPro camera company to launch a call for short videos of nature in Belgium or Luxembourg shot with a GoPro film camera. The entries poured in for a chance to win the GoPro Nature Award 2014.

A professional jury, headed by Belgian actor Koen De Bouw and director Philippe Soreil, was called upon to view and evaluate the entries – 84 in total, each with a maximum length of two minutes – and select the three most original and inspiring.

Tim Janssens convinced the jury with his video This is our home, which premiered at the Festival of Nature Films in Namur on October 12. Along with the GoPro Nature Award 2014, Tim Janssens also took home the top prize of €10,000 for his short film.

Second and third place went to Let’s have a dream by Louis Petit and Get out there by Alex Goossens.
