Belgian nationality by declaration waiting period

Question

Hi

I applied for Belgian nationality in the month of June. It is already 4 months since I applied. But I haven't received any update on my nationality. Do i wait for few more days, or shall I go to the commune to ask for an update? . What is the waiting period in this case?

becasse

The commune submitted my application at the beginning of April and I received the letter confirming that I was now a Belgian citizen just before the end of August, it then took another fortnight to actually get my new ID card.

The only interim "update" that I received was a summons to a (friendly) police interview.

I would suggest being patient for a couple of weeks longer. I made my declaration in mid-February; at the end of June I received a letter confirming that I had been added to the register as a Belgian citizen four months and one day after my declaration, exactly as I had been told. The letter came nearly two weeks after my inclusion, so it doesn't sound as if you have exceeded that timeframe yet. Unlike Becasse I heard absolutely nothing in between. Good luck and I hope you receive the news you are waiting for soon.

Wait another 2 weeks, then pop along to the commune with a photo for your new ID card.
You might get a letter beforehand, but one of our letters got "lost in the post".

what are the possibilities after crossing 4 months of time and still waiting for the news? Even commune also dont have any information yet.

Does commune make a followup on the case? Or just have to wait wait..

Good day all,
One quick question. Is it true that after submitting declaration to be a Belgian, and you don’t receive any letter from brussels within the 4 months waiting period. It should be considered a positive result??
