Belgian MEP sets up banker-bashing website

Belgian Green MEP Philippe Lamberts, dubbed ‘the City’s enemy no. 1’ and ‘the man who capped the banks’ by the Financial Times, is launching a stylish website aimed at denouncing the excesses of the banking industry, writes eFinancialServices’ Sarah Butcher. The site isn’t fully functional yet, but is likely to have sections on bankers’ addiction, depravity, greed, recklessness, megalomania, vampirism and deception. Lamberts has been at the forefront of the effort to cap European bonuses as a proportion of salaries. The bonus cap was “non-negotiable”, he told the BBC last month.
