Belgian ID

I just retired after working for an international organization and handed back my special ID to be returned to the MFA. Today I completed the paperwork for a residence ID at the commune, have to wait for the police visit, and go back to the commune in 5 weeks time. Will I get the ID card (or a temporary ID) in mid-January or does it take a full six months?
