Belgian Customer service... again
Just tried to by some large potatoes from my local shop to use as baked potatoes. The shopkeeper had a big tray of mixed muddy dirty potatoes but wouldn't sell me large potatoes - he insisited I had to take small ones and large ones. I politely pointed out that i wanted them for baking in the oven so didn't need small ones but he wasn't going to let me buy them unless I bought ones I didn't want.
Result - I have no potatoes - he hasn't made a sale and I will not visit his shop again... Belgian customer service! You couldn't make it up could you?
Lovely. I feel lucky I was allowed to pick and choose the potatoes I liked two days ago in my Match supermarket :-).
How dare you! Of course he has all the rights not to let you select the potatoes.
You will get so many replies like this one to your complain. So I want to be the first. Thank God, someone else has the courage to speak up. Yes, I totally agree with you, it's classic Belgian Customer Service or lack thereof. Regards,
I bought large potatoes for baking from my local supermarket today just like I did last week and will next week.
But then, I live in Belgium, not Brussels.
Don't call it 'Belgian Customer Service' when what you really mean is 'Brussels Customer Service'.
Where is this shop run by Belgians?
Ahh but really they were fighting for King/Queen and country, and a vast majority of them had no vested interest in that to begin with.
I totally agree though, at times customer service can be terrible but to be honest sometimes it's pretty good too.
Swings and roundabouts.

Actually, the OP's complaint reminds me of the customer service quality we used to enjoy in Poland back in the 80s. I'd attribute it to the socialist/welfare state attitude - however poorly you perform, you'll get your wages/benefit money anyway, so why care.

Without a doubt, the worst potato shopping ever. Rest assured that I was on the Internet within minutes, registering my disgust throughout the world.
