Belgian coast in autumn?

Question

Hello! Some friends from the UK will be visiting Bruges next weekend. We are Bxls based and have suggested that we meet up at the coast for part of a day.

We normally visit Knokke/de Panne/Ostend during the summer. Does anyone have any good suggestions about what to do at the coast at this time of year please? They have children from the ages of about 8 - 12 yrs too.

Thank you!

The best place to go is Den Haan. No highrises but amazing Art Deco and Vistorian architecture and it's a paradise for children any time of year.

And the only dune forest on the coast.

It depends on the kids but Blankenberge is probably most attractive to children of that age. It's an approximate Belgian equivalent of Brighton or Blackpool.
I love De Haan but it wouldn't think that it has much to attract most pre-teens.
But, most of all, it will depend on the weather. Sea Life at Blankenberge is an indoor attraction 'for all ages'.

As someone who went as a baby to a pre-teen to De Haan, it's great at that age. Wonderful memories.
