Belgian Chesterfield fans in charity hospice ride

10:58 27/03/2013

Belgium-based supporters of Chesterfield Football Club are planning to travel to the Spireites’ last home match of the season with a sponsored bike ride to support the Derbyshire Times’ Ashgate Hospice £25,000 Appeal, the paper reports. The five Belgian Spireites are determined to use pedal power to get to the match against Exeter City on April 27. Organiser Jonathan Dellicour said: “I’m part of a group of friends, based near Brussels, who adopted the Spireites as our team. The passion and the commitment of the fans is first class and we felt we’d like to match that commitment.” Fellow fan Jules Monnier said: “We are determined to make the effort worthwhile by raising as much money as possible for Ashgate Hospice and it would be great if the Chesterfield fans could back us to reach our ambitious target of £1,866.” The other team members are Sylvain Lecomte, Ben Helson and Pierre Fagnart.
