Beer spa opens its doors in Bruges

14:30 07/05/2023

Beer-lovers looking to soak themselves in a concoction of water, hops, barley and yeast will now be able to visit Belgium’s newest beer spa in Bruges.

The spa, which is the brainchild of Bart De Brabanter and Louis Raesouv, follows the opening of the country’s first beer-based spa, Bath and Barley, in Brussels two years ago.

The beer spa boasts 10 baths distributed among four private rooms inviting customers to soak themselves in oaken bathtubs at a temperature of 39°C.

Guests hoping for a more luxurious experience can also enjoy a sauna at 70°C, apparently the ideal temperature to enjoy in the aroma of hops. Baths will, naturally, be enjoyed with a beer in hand.

Other amenities include an oak bucket filled with cold water as well as a body scrub made from dried and ground hops cones, followed by a much-needed lie down on a straw mat.

Sessions can last between an hour and an hour and a half, depending on how long visitors want to stew for.
