BBC I player Radio
Hello, I'm resident in Brussels, and I suddenly cannot access certain BBC Radio 4 programmes on my Ipod any more. At the same time, I received an e-mail saying that Global Iplayer (which I think refers to television) is closing for a while and that it will re-emerge in a different format.
Are these two things a coincidence or not? I shall feel bereft if it's the latter as I rely on certain back episodes of Radio 4 programmes to keep me going during the day!
I am quite happy to access it in a different way and pay for the service. Does anyone know how?
It might be something to do with this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/internet/entries/296ac283-54df-4c21-a38f-8cc1...
I share your bereavement. As of a few months ago, we can no longer listen to BBC podcasts and on-demand via internet radio or smartphone, and haven't found a way round it, paid or otherwise. The message from the BBC seems to be "live with it".
Not obvious to me at all, I'm an equal numpty with technology! Judging by the comments on that blog, there is lots of unhappiness back home too from people whose shiny new internet radios are now effectively useless. Good luck with your possible solution - let us know how you get on.
Hi I've been having issues on my iPad with some program this week the archers afte 11th won't load or play. Iplayer isn't TV it's radio I think
Iplayer is both TV and radio, but it's only radio that's being affected by the changes the BBC is making. We've had glitches while playing R4 downloads via Sonos recently; fingers crossed this isn't the beginning of the end. "The Archers won't load or play" are words that strike fear into my heart.
I got iPlayer radio to work on my iPhone using a VPN (HMA pro) and then re-installing the iPlayer radio app.
