Banking account after leaving Belgium

Question

Hi everyone,

I left Belgium some months ago and returned to Germany and laft my bank account in negative. I would like to know if I can just leave it like that, or if they are going to trace me into Germany to claim for the money. By the way, I tried to de-register from the city hall, but after the third letter I just let it go, so I am still registered as living in Brussels.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

My god!!

As long as you are registered in Belgium, as long you are considered to have your worldwide main residence there.

As such you are required by laws to fill in your annual tax forms with your worldwide revenues, assets and bank accounts.

You remain a tax payer in Belgium!!

Were you tenant or owner?

If you were tenant, your formal landlord may require an indemnity to make use of his property address as your main residence!
