Bank Account | Advice

Question

Hi everyone!

I'm lookinng for a bank to open an account in Belgium and I'd like to have some advice on it.
Now I'm between 3 and I don't know which of them to choose:
-BeoBank
-Belfius
-BNP Paribas

What is really important for me is that there's no additional costs when I withdraw from ATMS from other banks and that there's a possibility to have a pre paid credit card, preferentially with no extra cost.

Thank you very much for your help in advance!:)

Have a nice day!

J

Ask to see their online banking app and their smartphone offerings. Personally, I'd recommend KBC, but go to a fairly big branch if you want personal service.

support KBC
and IMHO in Belgium a credit card is not prepaid, but linked to your bank account and billed / deducted monthly.

There are plenty of pre-paid payment cards available in Belgium. Some are offered by the banks, others direct from the card provider:

Hi everyone and thanks to all your answers:)
I liked KBC, but I immediatelly lost my interest when I read that they charge 0,20 cent per withdarawing from an ATM that is not from KBC...

Belfius online platform and phone app is only in French and Dutch, just in case you are not familiar with any of the two languages.

ING is also planning to charge customers when withdrawing money from non-ING banks. Sooner it will probably be the norm. Moving cash around is costly and requires human intervention.

Beobank are very good, extremely efficient (with English language telephone support if you need it) and they offer credit cards that give you a bit of cashback. I wouldn't go back to KBC.

Forgot to mention, if you want to use Apple Pay or Google Pay you need to bank with BNP Paribas. Personally I opened an account just for that purpose and a I transfer a bit of money into it to top up.

I use KBC and don’t pay any charges for withdrawing from any real bank in any country in eurozone.
Maybe if you use a non bank atm there could be a charge.
KBC also have good insurance arm and all staff seem to speak perfect English. Mobile app and online banking are excellent.
