Bach Concert - Chapelle des Minimes

Our October concert´s first cantata reflects these uncertain times, with even God unsure of what to do with his people. As so often, anxiety and fear give way to hope and consolation in the second cantata, depicted in some of Bach´s most inventive and expressive music. Between the two cantatas, a première performance of a peaceful motet in the pure classical style by Johann Adam Hiller, one of Bach´s successors as cantor in Leipzig. “The cantatas of the Minimes” have been a Brussels institution for 39 years now. Every fourth Sunday of the month, we present the cantatas of J. S. Bach as the Cantor of Leipzig had done in his time. Free admission for a concert of about 45 minutes in the very beautiful church of Notre-Dame des Victoires au Sablon where the faithful audience will come for a great spiritual and cultural moment.
