Avoid Paris this weekend, warns Belgian foreign ministry
Belgium's foreign affairs ministry has issued a travel warning for Paris this weekend, as further unrest from the "yellow vests" movement is expected.
Anyone planning to head to the French capital on 15-16 December should consider postponing their journey, Belgian officials said on Thursday.
Police are braced for a fifth consecutive weekend of protests in the French capital, with thousands of officers patrolling the streets.
"The biggest problems are likely to be in Paris, but it is possible that other cities are affected," said the Belgian foreign ministry in a warning posted on its website.
Belgium is calling on travellers elsewhere in France to be vigilant - including in the French overseas departments and territories.
