Assange biopic is Belgian coproduction

The Fifth Estate, the film about Julian Assange and Wikileaks which has just began shooting, is being coproduced by Belgian company FBO Film. The film, which will be released in the US on November 15 through Disney’s Touchstone label, began principal photography last week in Iceland and is being filmed this week in Berlin. The film also will shoot for 38 days in Belgium, where it will receive a tax credit. Locations include Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp and Liège. Directed by Bill Condon, The Fifth Estate stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange and Daniel Brühl as Daniel Domscheit-Berg, as well as Peter Capaldi, Laura Linney, Anthony Mackie and David Thewlis.
