Article 8 card collection
Hi all,
I've almost finished the EU citizen registration process in the Brussels commune (1000), and have now received the PUK and PIN codes in the post which I believe will now allow me to go in to the commune and collect the article 8 foreigners card.
The small letter that came in the post with the PIN and PUK code doesn't say what I need to do to collect the card, but says that an appointment may or may not be required... I asked when I went for my article 8 'appointment' a few weeks ago on the 3rd floor of the commune building and they said that they weren't sure what the process was...
Can anyone advise what I do now to collect the card? Do I need an appointment, and if so how do I make one? Or can I just turn up with my documents and the PIN/PUK code letter? If so, where do I go as it isn't the same place on the 3rd floor apparently.
Any help is appreciated... it'll be good to get this 6 month process finialised! I'm hoping to go down tomorrow (Wednesday) to get it if an appointment isn't needed.
I'm trying to remember what happened to me, it wasn't that long ago after all....I don't *think* I had an appointment and instead I think receiving the codes was the signal that I should collect the card.
The office you need to go to is on the second floor, not the third. Used to having to wait at the Bureau des Etrangers, I arrived very early but then found myself almost at the head of the queue once they opened the building (most people were going to the third floor) and it didn't take very long to be seen.
