Are we eligible for child benefit payments?

Question

Hi
We are a dual nationality family (British/German) with kids aged 13 and 10 and have recently arrived in Zaventem.
A German expat we met mentioned that they were claiming some sort of child benefit. Is this correct? If we are eligible, how would we go about accessing this?
All advice gratefully received!

Pay Belgian taxes? Yes, you get child benefit.
Ask your Belgian payroll provider. It gets paid through them.

The organisation that deal with my claim is called partner try search that and asking. I think they will back date your claim if you're eligible.
