Architects: personal recommendations appreciated

Question

We want to renovate our 1910 Belgian townhouse. It needs modernising and made in to a comfortable, functional home but we don't want to loose all of its character and original features in the process.

Can anyone who has done something similar please recommend a reliable, professional, efficient architect (who has a good understanding of function and practicality as well as an eye for aesthetics) ? Must have a good understanding of costs too as our budget is not unlimited!

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or advice.

Interesting that no one has come up with a recommendation. I am not convinced that you will find one with the characteristics you mention! Do you really need an architect? Would a good entrepreneur/builder not be able to do the job?

Have been looking at renovation projects in "Je Vais Construire." The magazine gives information on the architects. That might be a good place to start looking.

Hello,
we were in a similar situation for a renovation in Mechelen. However, it looks like your project was in 2015?
