Arabic to be taught in Belgian school for the first time
While a class on the Arabic language may, in theory, be offered in a Belgian school, it has yet to happen. That is until this school year, however, should the Royal Athenaeum of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert succeed in its goal of becoming the first school in the country to offer a course in Arabic, reports La Dernière Heure.
Woluwe-Saint-Lambert is one of the 19 municipalities located in the Brussels-Capital Region. From September, the secondary school there would like to offer its fifth-year students the opportunity to study Arabic, confirms the school director Massimo Caruso. He points out that Arabic is the fourth most spoken language in Belgium, and the native language of nearly 350,000 residents in the capital.
Caruso stressed that he wants his students to develop into citizens who are open to other cultures and who know the difference between language and religion. The Athenaeum already has a teacher available to give the lesson, which will go through under the condition that at least eight students have registered by October.

This statement is completely WRONG and the Flemish community has already published the truth : the FIRST foreign language spoken in Brussels in NOT Arabic but Tamazight (Berber) : the same language Saint Augustine used to speak at home !!! Also, the Amazigh culture is related historically to Europe since it has given great names to it : Augustine and other great religious names, 2 popes, Lucius Gaia, Apuleius, Fronton, Cicero and many more...
Arabizing (more) the Berber youth community will only create more future terrorists while as re-rooting them to their REAL culture will help them in balancing their minds. Even the Moroccan government has now decided to teach Tamazight in primary schools .... Mr Massimo Caruso is mislead and I hope he'll revise his opinion by informing more himself on this crucial issue.
