Anyone got Belgian citizenship NOT via economic contribution?

Question

I am a non-EU citizen, a legal cohabitant with a Belgian citizen for 7+ years, no kids, with an incurable disease. I satisfied the language proficiency requirement and finished social integration course.

Do you think I stand a chance in getting Belgian citizenship? Any success stories out there?

The only people who will know and understand your situation in it's entirety are the commune where you live. They'll be able to tell you pretty fast if you comply or not

Ask your commune about it. The rules are available online to check. if you have done an integration course and a language test then I think it should be feasible for you to get Belgian Nationality. But your commune/gemente can best look at your situation and tell you. They decide if your application moves forward.

without economic contribution you have to wait 10 years for citizenship qualification.
