AMICABLE SEPARATION

Question

My wife and I,not Belgian and not married in Belgium, have agreed to separate after 13 years. So it goes!
We have relatively young children who have an understanding of the implications but, for the moment, suffer no distress since they see two parents who continue to communicate
We would like to find a lawyer who will advise us on the easiest way through the legal miasma we are in. Joint custody of children, split of joint assets etc.
At the moment the children are content and my wife and I have agreed in principle the elements of our separation
Please, is there a non-adverserial supportive lawyer out there ?
Recommendations welcomed.
TIA

If you have everything agreed, including finances and the care of your children, then you do not need to see a lawyer, you need to see a notaire. They will draw up a constat de divorce based on the mutual agreement between the two partners. Hiring a lawyer will only add cost to the whole process, and in any case, they need to instruct a notaire anyway to draw up the constat. The divorce should be relatively easy, and basically will involve two 10 minute visits to the court to say "yes I want a divorce" in front of a judge, over a three month period, and that's it.

If you can read french, there is a huge amount of information here:
