AMAZON and shipping to Belgium

Question

Was shopping at Amazon UK, but when I got to the counter, they would not let me take much of the stuff to Belgium.

Are there other ones (DE, FR) that are better in this respect?
How can I know while I am shopping if I can actually take it with me?

Me

usually if you click the Free super saver on the left hand side when searching it eliminates a lot of the products (NOT ALL) that can't be sent to Belgium:

I get lots of stuff from Amazon Uk -- Problem is usually when it is a seller who sells via amazon rather than Amazon itself. Same issue with Amazon.fr -- but it is a minority of items I have found (in my case anyway)

The free delivery is pretty fast

Some good tips there, I certainly always use the free super saver delivery (and might add the odd paperback book to the order to make up the minimum spend required) and find it excellent.

A couple of additional points:
Firstly, you will often (usually?) find a problem with electrical goods because items intended for UK use ALWAYS have a different manufacturer's number from items intended for some or all of continental Europe because of the fitted-plug issue. Manufacturers usually restrict the sale of these items to the UK on (legitimate) safety grounds. Obviously this shouldn't be an issue if you are buying through the .fr or .de sites.
Secondly, in my experience most orders are actually fulfilled from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and therefore TVA will be added to the price of items such as books which are 0% rated in the UK but not in the GDL.
