Airport taxi

Question
anon

There must be hundreds of local and national taxi companies in Belgium, as well as the official airport taxi's themselves. taxi2airport is an agregator site on the internet, designed to capture many google and other searches for people looking for airport taxis. There is taxi2airport.be, as well as taxi2airport.com, taxi2airport.de, taxi2airport.nl, etc. etc.
All the company / web site does is take your information and then call a local taxi driver. They then charge you for the privilege.

a complete waste of money. unless they have more luggage they can move themselves. the train costs about 3EUR, leaves from the airport lower level...just take a lift down a couple of levels and 20 mins later you are in brsussels north, central or south. i have heard that an airplane ticket showing arrival also gives you access to the train. a taxi will cost about 50eur.

train: faster, costs 15 times less
taxi: expensive and slow...especially if you arrive in rush hour

Not sure when alittlerisky last used the train from the airport to central brussels, but last timeI used it, standard ticket was 7.80 euros.

Also, the bus went up this year to 4 euros.
