Activities for Kids
My 6 year old niece is visiting for a long weekend in May.
Any advice for a clueless uncle what to do?
Don't think the following would appeal to her: Mini-Europe, Océade, Aventure Parc etc...
She is more Art inclined... painting & drawing.
Also loves Ballet.
Maybe:
- Where's a good chocolate museum for kids?
- Are there an places to Paint? She is big into Art. Maybe paint a plate?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thank you :-)
if you speak dutch, there are loads of ideas here, sortable by activity, date, age, etc. there could be a similar site in french, but i don't know of one. http://www.uitmetvlieg.be/agenda/alle/regio-brussel
C'ramic on rue Lesbroussart in Ixelles - she can paint her own plate or mug there. At La Vitrine Transformatek in St-Gilles there's a jewelry-making workshop for kids on Sunday mornings in English. At the Children's Museum in Ixelles there's painting and cooking.
Zaabar on Chaussée de Charleroi does chocolate-making workshops; my (slightly older) nieces loved that when they visited: http://www.zaabar.com/blog/en/visits-lessons/particuliers/child-chocolat...
And I've never been, but Tricoterie in St Gilles does creative kids activities on Sundays: http://www.tricoterie.be/-Activites-?lang=fr
Never been but am told the musical instrument museum in town is good, our children love technopolis but requires a car it at me Helen. Hands on science center not quite the thing you asked. Many communes do have lovely play parks huizingden domain out past Beersel is a great place to go lots to see, plants and flowers some animals lots of flowers and swings slides etc. great for playing out side if it's nice weather great way to burn of the energy of a six year old.
Also further but Paradisia if it's open is the nicest zoo style place in Belgium lots of birds, fun stuff for children nice aquarium, only down side the food is bad take sandwiches unless you like junk food. Imagine they will all be in this
