Activities for indoor playdate at home for active 5-year-olds

Question

Any good suggestions for what to do with two 5-year-olds at home on a Wednesday afternoon? I'm hosting a playdate and my house has very small rooms and no outdoor space, so not conducive to games that involve balls or running around (my daughter's favorite activities). Neither kid is particularly into arts & crafts. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

A tarpaulin or large plastic sheet, make sure there is plenty of space and the room is warm, spread out the sheet with lots of pieces of blank paper, old wallpaper is good, get lots of safe watercolour paint and in their swimsuits or undies let the children paint, doing hand-prints, footprints etc, then have them make paper islands to walk to the shower/bath. Mine loved this so did their friends, and I am looking forward to doing this with my Grandson, unfortunately at the moment he is only 7 months old !!
