200 migrants take shelter in Brussels rail stations
About 200 migrants are staying in Brussels North and South stations to keep out of the cold - and many of them are believed to have come from the dismantled camp in Calais.
Most of them are in Brussels after fleeing war and conflict areas such as Sudan, Eritrea, Iran and Syria, RTL reports.
It can be dangerous and potentially deadly for these refugees to be out in the cold. At least four refugees have died around Europe from sleeping outside with the low temperatures in the last couple weeks.
Most of these migrants are passing through Belgium and have plans to stay more long-term in other countries, such as the UK.
"These are people who really want to leave so there is no question of regularising their situation in Belgium," a spokesman for the Samu social said. "They are not asylum seekers, they are people whose aim to leave."
