1957 car control technique
1 Visit customs with all UK paperwork
2 Appt at CT station with paperwork they give you (need an appt for imports -- specific times
3 If no certificate of conformity - You need a seperate appt for them to do that for you -- be warned the paperwork then sits in Brussels a long time!
4 You will need to find an insurer (If you drive another car - worth joining RACB historic section - you can then get cheap classic assurance
5 Note you will need to fit "LHD" headlights
6 - You have a choice of an "oldtimer" or "normal" number plate -- if the car will pass pollution tests go for the "normal" plate.
7. - if the car has been purchased from a dealer - customs will demand a TVA receipt
It's a pain -- but have done it a couple of times
