20 Brussels events in 2020: #18. Antarctica

01:01 01/01/2019

Antarctica is usually the preserve of scientists but an immersive exhibition at the Museum of Natural Sciences puts you squarely in the middle of the continent and you can explore as if you were really there.

Dive into the frozen water and hang out with seals as well as with strange creatures of the deep. Resurface on an ice field next to an emperor penguin colony and watch them live their lives. To put you there, superb films are projected onto big screens, including a final 360° projection.

While you are at the museum: the dinosaur gallery is of course well worth a visit but it’s always there unlike another dinosaur who is on temporary display in the Gallery of Evolution and who will be leaving on 31 March. He’s named Arkhane and he is a new Allosaurus species.

Until 30 August, Museum of Natural Sciences
