Zero alcohol tolerance sought for Belgian police
Belgium
12:04 21/11/2012
The new commissioner-general of the federal police, Catherine De Bolle (pictured), is on a mission to tackle alcohol consumption in the force, and drinking on the job in particular, De Standaard and Het Nieuwsblad report. Beside the scrapping of the New Year drinks (also an economic necessity), De Bolle is working on measures aimed at forbidding the presence of any alcohol in all police buildings and the consumption of alcohol of any kind during work hours. The measure, which hasn’t yet been finalised, is part of a package which will be discussed with the unions this week.
