Unlicensed driving schools in line of fire
Belgium
12:07 22/04/2013
Secretary of state for mobility Melchior Wathelet wants to reform the driving school system. This will include limiting the validity of provisional licences and taking strict action against ‘pseudo’ driving schools, he told De Morgen today. These schools are not illegal at present in Belgium, which is something Wathelet wants to address. They are usually staffed by instructors who are not wanted by licensed driving schools and make themselves known via the internet, offering lessons at prices well below the market rate. Federdrive, the federation of licensed driving schools in Belgium, has submitted a dossier on the matter to the secretary of state for the fight against social fraud.
