Summer

Question

Does anybody know what happened to the Summer? Until recently there was a big yellow thing in the sky making everything warm and I could wear shorts at the weekend. Now it seems to have disappeared. Could we have it back please because Belgium is so much nicer when the sun is shining!

Or maybe I overslept a bit and its actually October.

Ouch! I'm clicking on the 'Report Abuse' button!

Maybe it just likes seeing me fall off my bike...

HAHA. Sorry, Adriano, this is the most entertaining Q and A I've seen all day ;)

Will someone please explain what is this yellow orb in the sky that you speak of?

1. Sun. The star that is the central body of the solar system, around which the planets revolve and from which they receive light and heat: its mean distance from the earth is about 93 million miles (150 million km), its diameter about 864,000 miles (1.4 million km), and its mass about 330,000 times that of the earth.

2. Impossible to see from on the ground in either Belgium or most of the UK during the Summer months.

3. Impossible to see from on the ground in Scotland at any time of the year.

Ohhh, the sun...I read about it in Greek mythology when I was a kid.

4. Sun. British tabloid newspaper with a (blonde) bird displaying her knockers on page 3. Visually, not intellectually, stimulating... Available in the Summer when other types of Sun have long since disappeared.
