A bus will travel through the streets of the Brussels-Capital region on 15, 17, 18 and 23 December to deliver 60 messages in song as part of Operation Voices of Christmas, the Stib said on Tuesday.

Requests can be made via the Stib website and social networks. The bus will then travel to the home of the recipients of the requested message and play it in the form of a song through speakers mounted on the vehicle. Messages will be chosen based on their potential to be adapted into song, their content and their originality. Messages sent for consideration should not exceed 200 characters.

The choir of the Little Singers of St Peter's College will record the songs which will be broadcast later via the bus.

The person who sent the message will be notified by email the day before it is broadcast. This will give them the opportunity to notify the recipient of the message or to ensure that they are present at their home when the time comes.

The Stib aims to spread messages of solidarity during this holiday season when people usually enjoy being with their families but may not be able to do so due to current restrictions related to the coronavirus crisis.

During the first wave of the pandemic, 136 messages recorded directly by the senders were broadcast in mid-April as part of the operation, then entitled Voices of Brussels.
