Public transport disruption limited despite winter weather
Belgium
12:03 07/12/2012
After a winter storm dumped snow across Belgium on Friday morning, there were less problems with public transport than expected. In Brussels, STIB trams and metros are running normally. At Brussels Airport, however, poor visibility and strong winds are to blame for the cancellation of 40 flights this morning. Brussels Airport advises passengers to come to the airport well in advance of their flight, and to follow the flight schedule online. Trains are running more or less on time, according to Thomas Baeken, spokesman for rail operator Infrabel.
