Pilgrimage - Elias Schiva sextet
Pilgrimage is the result of just over 10 years of Elias Schiva’s musical career, until his arrival at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. Two types of influences come together: firstly, occidental sounds such as jazz and, more exactly, hard bop; listening to progressive and alternative rock allows for a complementary vision of sonorities and composition. Secondly, sonorities and rhythms form North and West Africa, colours of the Arab and Balkan regions. The project is strongly inspired by artists such as Tigran Hamasyan, who’s productions are very eclectic, but is not an imitation.
