New Belgian Champion Beer Tapping

Allaine Schaiko, 23, of café 't Archief in Leuven is the new Belgian champion of beer tapping. The contest, organised annually by Stella Artois, challenges 69 candidates to tap the perfect glass of beer, a precise ritual that involves nine different steps. Schaiko will represent Belgium on October 25 in Montreal, Canada, during the World Draught Master 2012 competition, taking on 30 other national champions from around the world.
