Marion Cotillard to star in next Dardenne brothers film
The latest film by the Dardenne brothers will star the multi-award-winning actor Marion Cotillard and filming will begin in the summer in Wallonia, writes Cineuropa’s Aurore Engelen. The Dardennes co-produced Jacques Audiard’s Rust and Bone, in which Cotillard stars. The brothers have previously opted to cast relatively – sometimes completely – unknown actors in their lead roles. Opposite Cotillard will be Fabrizio Rongione, in his fifth collaboration with the Dardennes. Little is known of this new movie, except that it will tell the story of Sandra, who, with the help of her husband, will spend a weekend trying to persuade her workmates to give up their bonuses so she can keep her job. Just like The Son, The Silence of Lorna and The Kid With a Bike, Two Days, One Night will be co-produced by Denis Freyd and Archipel 35. In Belgium, it will be carried by the brothers’ company, Les Films du Fleuve.
