Man shot dead outside Antwerp hotel

A man was shot dead in the street in Antwerp on Thursday afternoon. The shooting took place at about 14.15 near the Crowne Plaza Hotel, not far from the orbital ring road. Paramedics managed to revive the 34-year-old at the scene, but he died shortly afterwards. Police say the killers drove off in a light-coloured car and disappeared. They have not provided details of the shooting, but it may have been the result of a dispute between criminal gangs, with the man caught in the crossfire.
