F + card waiting time

Question

Good day all,

I have applied for an F+ card and the waiting time is 5months. Word of mouth: says if I dont recieve any letter by post from the ministry during this time, it is considered a positive answer.
Does anyone know about this or had a similar experience before?

Also is it possible that they could give another card type instead.. if am not eligible to an F+ at the end of the 5months time?

Thanks ahead

Edi

I think is better if you could have applied for Nationality. I would have taken you the same time 5-6 months. However the procedure is every time you apply for a superior residence card from the one you have the commune/city hall has to demand the permission of the foreigners office in order to be able to issue it the card. Since you have F card I think it will be easy for you to receive the F+ as they are very similar.

You need permanent residency before you can apply for nationality.

Only eu nationals can apply for permanent residency simultaneously with nationality.

@ Shortof,
An F card is considered permanent residency. with an F card can be applied for nationality provided you fulfill more than five year residence and the other criteria

An F card is not considered permanent residence. In accordance with EU regs, after 5 years only of residence in an EU country, can you be considered for permanent residence. A few exceptions, such as refugees, parent of EU child with permanent residence / nationality.

Therefore F+ card first then nationality.
