THEATRE

Superamas – “Theatre”, Kaaitheater

The French-Austrian-Belgian collective are popular performers in Belgium, known for their BIG trilogy. This latest English-language work sees them focus their sights on “the illusion of politics and the politics of illusion”. With 3D images and avatars, it promises to be a dazzling, sexy show. Superamas also reveal the sources of their inspiration in a new series of conversations with artists called Soul Food, accompanied by food and drink (December 8, 18.00-20.00).

Presumption, Warehouse Studio Theatre

Innovative drama from the English Comedy Club about a couple settling down to post-honeymoon life. Contemporary theatre by Sheffield group Third Angel and performed here by ECC newcomers Tania Rabesandratana and Yorgos Filippakis, directed by Malinda Coleman. Tickets €15.

Moscow City BalletCirque Royal

Not one, but two classic and popular ballets from the company founded by former Bolshoi principal dancer Victor Smirnov-Golovanov: Swan Lake (above) with choreography by Marius Pepita and music by Tchaikovsky and The Nutcracker, a Christmas tale from Hoffman, revisited by Alexandre Dumas. MUSIC

Georgio ‘the Dove’ Valentino, Art Base

The American singer/writer pays tribute to the late Italian singer and poète maudit Piero Ciampi by performing a selection of his work in Italian accompanied by pianist Todor Stefanov. The self-proclaimed “fake Italian crooner” considers Ciampi “a supremely gifted poet with a voice steeped in character”. This very personal homage to the 1970s cult singer joins a series of profile-raising posthumous tributes.

EXHIBITION

Noël en Russie des Tsars, Grand' Poste, Liège

As part of Liège’s Christmas festivities, this major show in one of the city’s emblematic listed buildings proposes a history of Russia via the story of the Romanov dynasty from 1613 to 1917. It evokes the legendary empire by recreating scenes such as the Tsar’s Winter Palace with maquettes and objects from public and private collections. They include hundreds of figures adorned in traditional costume, miniature painting, icons and photos. Adults €8. Tickets via TicketNet.
