Contemporary Art Measures The World
The 54th annual « Fêtes de la Saint-Martin » welcome visitors in Tourinnes-la-Grosse (a lovely French-speaking village 30km east of Brussels, Belgium) from the 3rd to the 24th of November.
It is a multi-cultural festival of contemporary art exhibitions, offering an overview of the unusual artists’ route (an essential element in Belgian art), a theatrical performance, various concerts and exhibits.
This unique event, founded in 1965 by Max Van der Linden, a renowned local ceramist, will continue its strong tradition "to share what is beautiful". The 2019 program includes diverse contemporary art exhibitions compiled by the curator Alain Bornain on this year’s chosen theme: “The Measures of the World”.
Several artists have been invited to illustrate this idea in their most original and personal skills. Different versions on how time can be measured, experienced, lived, from where you are and who you are.
Trained « ambassadors » will introduce the exhibited works and welcome any visitor who might want to better grasp the artists' techniques.
Enjoy an autumnal walk among in beautiful surroundings, meet interesting people and make it an experience to remember. There are also free guided tours and special guided tour for families with children (from 6 years old).
Exhibits and shows are in French.
