Darkness Into Light

On Saturday 11 May at 5.00 in the morning, thousands of people around the world will walk through the darkness of night towards the dawning light of day. Mental health is the theme of the Darkness into Light walk. The money raised will benefit three suicide and self-harm prevention charities. And the aim of Darkness into Light is to allow everyone to play a part in removing the stigma around suicide and self-harm. Our reporter Noreen Donovan spoke to three of the organisers to find out more.

Too Good To Go

A new app is fighting against food waste in Belgium, one meal at a time, by connecting consumers with vendors who have surplus food. Too Good To Go this week won an award at the Food Waste Awards in Brussels. How does it work? At the end of each business day, restaurants, hotels, grocery stores and bakeries can list their leftover food for a discounted price. Jonas Mallisse is in charge of Too Good To Go here in Belgium. He explains a bit more.
