20 Brussels events in 2020: #15. Ai Weiwei

Ai Weiwei, Chinese dissident artist, is dismissed by some as a media darling and not much more. The exiled artist’s work is, by force, political, but that doesn’t necessarily negate its artistic value.

He is known for the vast scale of his pieces which receive extensive media coverage. The Royal Museum of Fine Arts is mounting an exhibition that will include The Law of the Journey, his over 50-metre-long black raft filled with 300 over-scaled refugees.
